Gol started to charge for the appointment of seats at the time of purchase of the ticket. The rule only applies to Light and Promo fares, meaning the Max and Plus tickets continue with the seat marking included in the price. The Promo fare will be available for domestic and international flights. Check it out here.
Another point to note is that now the free booking will only be valid within the check-in period, which starts counting seven days before the date of the flight. Those who want to choose the seat at the time of purchase will have to pay R $ 10 in the Light Rate and R $ 20 in the Promo. These values are valid for both domestic and international flights. Gol, therefore, becomes the first Brazilian airline to charge for seat marking on domestic flights, something extremely normal abroad, especially in low-cost airlines.
In a statement, Gol said that “the creation of an even more attractive tariff coupled with the high level of services is only possible thanks to the continuous work to reduce costs and increase the operational efficiency of the company in an intelligent way. As the only company in the country with a standardized fleet, it allows the creation of an air network that maximizes the flight time of the aircraft, achieving the lowest cost per seat of the sector throughout Latin America. This benefit the company passes on to consumers in the form of more affordable tariffs. ”
