Brazil has the greatest tourism potential among all countries in the world and can almost triple the current annual revenue of the sector, estimated in the last 12 months at approximately US $ 7 billion. The expectation is from the president of the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur), Vinicius Lumertz, announced in an interview with Voz do Brasil on Wednesday (9).

“We believe we will come out of this $ 7 billion revenue level and move to close to $ 20 billion in revenue, increasing jobs, which is the country’s top priority at the moment,” he said.

Sector

According to Lumertz, tourism is currently responsible for employing 10% of workers worldwide in the 52 areas that make up the sector. In Brazil, 8.5 million Brazilians work in tourism. “It is the cheapest job that can be generated in the economy. In the future, there will be an additional question, which is the change generated by automation, which will reach almost 50% of the professions in Brazil, but not so much in tourism and tourism will open a very good perspective, “he said.
