Norwegian Cruise Line has just started building its new ship, Norwegian Encore, the latest addition to its young fleet that will sail the Caribbean from Miami seasonally, starting in the fall of 2019. The event was marked by the official ceremony of cut of the first sheet of steel that will make up the ship. Officials from Norwegian and Meyer Werft, who are building the new giant of the seas, attended the ceremony in Papenburg, Germany.
Norwegian Encore will be the 17th ship of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet and the fourth and last of the Breakaway Plus class, the most successful category in the history of the brand. With approximately 167,800 gross tonnage and accommodating 4,000 guests, Norwegian Encore will hold weekly seven-day Caribbean cruises departing every Sunday from PortMiami, offering guests superior service, outstanding entertainment, signature dining and onboard experiences through which Norwegian Cruise Line is known around the world.
