Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo, was excluded from the list of 13 airports in the country that were included in the Federal Government’s privatization program and which would pass the administration of the São Paulo air terminal to the private sector. The decision was taken by the president, Michel Temer, to get more favorable votes in the House by the deputies of the Party of the Republic (PR), who commands the Transport folder.
The airports that will be auctioned will be those of the cities of Vitória (ES), Recife (PE), Aracaju (SE), Maceió (SE) (MT), Alta Floresta (MT), and Barra (MT), in the state of Rio de Janeiro, of the Garças (MT). The concessions of the included airports can be done individually or in blocks, being distributed in more than one interested company.
