The Royal Caribbean cruise company invites the world to experience the first underwater adventure through the lenses of the Snapchat Spectacles, thanks to a custom dive mask dubbed SeaSeeker. The mask has been designed by Royal Caribbean for use with the Snapchat Spectacles and allows users to fit them while they are underwater, giving them, underneath the surface, a unique perspective of the intriguing world of marine life.

“The SeaSeeker mask will allow adventurous people to secure a front-row seat to watch exciting underwater journeys in a way that has never been possible before,” said Jim Bearra, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Royal Caribbean International. “Snapchat remains the favorite channel for travelers and is the ideal platform for this first exploration of the seabed. We look forward to finding an innovative way to use Snapchat Spectacles with our SeaSeeker mask, which is being patented so we can bring the Underwater experience to our guests as they visit the incredible destinations we navigate. We even took the initiative to apply for the patent for the SeaSeeker mask so we can bring it with exclusivity to our guests. ”

The three presentation dives were incredible underwater adventures seen through the eyes of three well known divers. In Cozumel, Mexico, marine wildlife photographer and environmental protector Roberto Ochoa gave viewers a rare glimpse into the annual migration of whale sharks. Marine biologist and co-founder of Oceanus, A.C., based in Mexico, Gabriela Nava took viewers to a coral reef restoration project where she and her team have been working to restore the local reefs. In Belize, free diver Ashleigh Baird visited the famous Great Blue Hole, an immense underwater cave believed to be the largest of its kind.
