Easter is coming and Curitiba will have many attractions and typical festivities. The city has a large community of descendants of Ukrainians and Poles, which makes the Food Blessing one of the highlights of the programming. The typical ceremony of the Slavic cultures always takes place on the Sabbath of Hallelujah, when people take baskets of food to be blessed.
Landmarks of immigration in the capital of Paraná, the Ukrainian Memorial in Tingui Park, and the Polish Memorial in the John Paul II Forest will have solemnities to mark the date. The ceremony is open and everyone can take baskets for blessing.
For the locals who like handicrafts, the option is to check the products of more than 80 craftsmen exhibited at the Special Easter Fair of the squares Osório and Santos Andrade, in the Center. In addition to the craft alluding to the date, it is also possible to taste typical foods in the stalls in the place.
The Municipal Market will have a fair with typical products of the time and gastronomic workshops for children and adults.
Those interested can also take gourmet classes on the preparation of cod and fish, as well as cheese and wine harmonization tips for the date.
