Frida Kahlo’s 110th birthday on 6 July is approaching. Thus, nothing better than to know a little more about the artist visiting the place where she was born, lived with his love, Diego Rivera, for a long time, and where he was inspired by the social issues of his time creating his revolutionary surrealist style of art During the post-revolution period.

Known for its traditional Mexican fashion, self-portraits and bright colors, Frida’s Mexico City has some must-see places:

Coyoacan

One of the first neighborhoods in Mexico City where Frida Kahlo lived. Tourists can enjoy their artistic and vibrant colors, sounds, music and isolated corners, along with charming streets, alleys and emblematic sites, surrounded by new Spanish baroque houses, cultural centers, restaurants, bookstores and galleries.

Frida Kahlo Museum

The house where Frida lived, recovered from her traumas and died. The place has original paintings made by her, parts of her life with Diego Rivera and his workspace. Known for its traditional Mexican clothing Tehuan, the museum currently has a special collection of Frida dresses.

Dolores Olmedo Museum

House of the greatest quantity of pieces of Frida Kahlo in the world. The museum is organizing an exhibition of Frida from July to December, with special events in honor of the artist on the 8th (“Life with Frida”) and July 9 (“Gracias Chabela”).

Museum House Studio Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo

Place where Diego and Frida lived together (in fact, they are two separate houses and connected by a bridge) and worked in their respective arts. While the place displays many of Diego’s current works, it remains an icon of their relationship.
