President Michel Temer has placed the network of Brazilian embassies and consulates in a “state of alert” to provide all necessary support to the Brazilians affected by Hurricane Irma, which has hit South Florida on Saturday morning (10). In a posting on Twitter’s social network, Temer said he is following the arrival of the hurricane.

“I am following with concern the arrival of Hurricane Irma to Florida. My solidarity with the Brazilian community and all those affected. I placed our network of embassies and consulates on a state of alert to provide all the necessary support to the affected Brazilians, “said the president.

Hurricane Irma has left a trail of at least 25 dead and considerable material damages in the Caribbean, and has touched the earth today in the islets of Florida, in the extreme south of the United States, with winds of 215 kilometers per hour (km / h), the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
