A worldwide highlight in the entertainment industry, Cirque du Soleil has confirmed the purchase of Blue Man Productions, which is responsible for the Blue Man Group show. The entertainment company now expands its portfolio with six more productions resident in the United States and Germany, in addition to two world tours.

Since 1991, when it was created, the Blue Man Group show has been viewed by more than 35 million people in more than 20 countries. The deal is part of the strategy to increase creative strength and diversify the entertainment offer beyond the group’s circus art.

“We want to broaden our horizons, reach new audiences and expand our own creative capacities. Today, we are taking a decisive step towards materializing these ambitions,” says Cirque du Soleil president and CEO Daniel Lamarre.

The purchase of Blue Man Productions, however, is not the only novelty of the Canadian group. This week, Cirque du Soleil begins to perform aboard the MSC Meraviglia with exclusive shows.
