Due to the weather forecast for Brevard County over the weekend, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be closed until at least Wednesday (13) as a result of the bad weather forecast with the arrival of Hurricane Irma in the region .

This will allow complex staff time to make arrangements with their families and in their homes. So far Complex staff are confident their reopening will take place on Wednesday from 9 am after a full assessment of the structures in the NASA Visitor Complex.

During these closing days visitors will not be able to enter the Complex and only employees who have essential functions will be present.

Preparations in the Visitor Complex are underway in anticipation of bad weather that may occur due to the hurricane, gathering loose objects such as chairs and ensuring the protection of doors and windows.
