The Itaipu Tourist Complex (CTI Brazil) recorded a record number of visits in the carnival. Between Saturday (10) and Tuesday (13), 13,404 tourists visited the hydroelectric power station, 6% more than in the same period in 2017, when 12,660 people visited Itaipu. The visit takes into account only the tourists of the Brazilian bank of the company.
The record number was the Three Wonders Passport, an act of divulging the Iguaçu Destination, created in October last year, which unites the attractions Itaipu Binacional, Iguazu Falls and Marco das Três Fronteiras.
About 10% of visitors to Itaipu’s main attraction, the Panoramic Tour, bought their passport. In another attraction, the Ecomuseum, 64.28% of the tourists used the special ticket.
“The passport is an unprecedented initiative in the region, in line with what is best in the sector around the world, and helps strengthen the integration of tourist attractions,” said tourism manager for the Itaipu Brazilian bank, Alexandre dos Santos Pacheco .
In January, the attractiveness of Itaipu benefited from the action. In the first month of the year, CTI Brasil visited 85,500 visitors, an increase of 11.2% compared to January 2017.
Remember also the other attractions
The Iguaçu Falls and Marco das Três Fronteiras, the other two attractions of the Passport Three Frontiers, also had a record visitation during the carnival holiday, when compared to the same period last year.
There were 37,593 visitors to the Iguassu National Park, an increase of 3.8% compared to 2017. The Three Borders Landmark registered a visit to 10,317 tourists, a growth of almost 100%. On Sunday (11), 3,146 people visited the Marco, a record of tourists in a single day.
