With the beginning of summer, next Thursday (21) also reaches the high season in Brazil. By February 2018, Brazilians should make 74.13 million trips, an increase of 0.8% over the same period last year.

The Minister of Tourism, Marx Beltrão, is optimistic. “The numbers confirm the strength of tourism and point to a scenario of recovery of the Brazilian economy. Prospects for next year are also encouraging, “he said.

For Beltrão, there are two main reasons for the good numbers: the 0.6% growth in the services sector indicated at the beginning of December by the IBGE and the 10% reduction in airfare prices, as indicated by the National Consumer Price Index Wide.

The three most sought after destinations are São Paulo, Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro; which together concentrate 10% of total travel by Brazilians. The move is expected to inject R $ 100.8 billion into the economy during this period with the movement of several sectors of Brazilian tourism.
