South Africa is increasingly on the radar of the Brazilian. The latest figures point to a 176% increase in visits in June compared to the same month in 2016, according to South African Tourism (SAT).
With these data, Brazil reaches an eight-month increase of more than three digits, further consolidating its leadership in South America in emissions to the country. In the first half, South Africa received a total of 32,368 Brazilian tourists, up 128.5% compared to January to June 2016.
Among the prominent reasons for this boom in visitation are the enchantment with destination, cost-benefit and the largest offer of flights to the capital Johannesburg, SAT points out. The period of intense growth beats the operation of the Latam flight to the city in October of last year.
“South Africa is a wonderful destination for tourism and, with much better conditions since the end of 2016 in the price and offer of air tickets, the Brazilian is finally able to discover the charms of the country,” said the representative of the Tourism of Africa of the South, Tatiana Isler.
Besides the increase of Brazilians, the SAT sees a greater interest starting from Argentina. The second largest South American issuer had an average increase of 91.8% in the first half. In all, there were 9,038 tourists.
ROADSHOW
In order to make South Africa even more prominent, SAT will hold, in partnership with South African Airways, another year of roadshow in the cities of São Paulo, Curitiba and Buenos Aires. The event will feature trainings and product presentation for agencies and tour operators.
