Strategic partnership for digitalization is made between Siemens, the world leader in scanning solutions, and the Munich airport, to provide digital enhancements to the site.

Among the objectives are the energy efficiency of buildings and the logistics of the baggage handling system. In addition, the company is becoming a development partner for LabCampus, the premier project for the digital future of the airport.

Siemens’ development efforts in this project are currently focused on five innovation fields. This includes intelligent guidance of passenger flows, continuous tracking of baggage and stand-alone buses in the airport areas, as well as predictive maintenance and operation of systems such as baggage handling and construction technology.

LabCampus is the new innovation center of Munich Airport. There, companies, startups, universities and research institutes must work together on new technologies. In this interdisciplinary center of ideas culture on the campus of the airport, Siemens and Munich Airport will develop pioneering solutions in areas of innovation, such as mobility and energy management, as well as security and protection.
