Next Saturday, the Jockey Club of São Paulo will pay homage to the Japanese community, which this year celebrates 109 of immigration to Brazil. The 23rd edition of the Japan Cup of Turfe will be promoted, with horse races dedicated to the Japanese and with free admission.

From 12:30 p.m., the Garden City Hippodrome will give way to oriental culture and the audience will be able to see typical performances such as the traditional Kassa Odori and Taiko dance, which involves a variety of Japanese percussion instruments, from one race to another.

The place will have special decoration, with characteristic objects of the country. There will also be a 12-panel photo exhibition, each representing a decade of Japanese culture.

To help with the festivity, there will be a variety of food trucks, with oriental and varied gastronomic options.

Thinking about children, there will be paid horseback riding and a free kids area with children’s workshops, among them, origami workshop, as well as various toys. Participation in activities is on a first come first serve basis and children up to 3 years old must be accompanied by a responsible person.

In horse races, the public will be able to check all the excitement of each competition closely, with mares starting at 4 years old that compete in the 1,600 meters of the racetrack of the Hippodrome. The programming will also contemplate disputes of two classics, one dedicated to foals and another to three-year-old filly.
