For the Brazilians experience with the cordiality, kindness and security were the reasons that pleased them most during their stay in the country. The data were released by the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay, and refer to the third quarter of the year. According to information presented by the agency, 38% of the tourists indicated that everything pleased them (all = motives raised in research), 21% (25,642 visitors) liked the people, their friendliness and attention, 12% opined for the tranquility and security, and 7% chose Punta Del Este as a reason to be more pleased. The remaining 22% chose for gastronomy, cuisine, casinos, architecture, other destinations, beaches and borders.
From January to the end of September 2017, Uruguay received 2,891,130 million tourists of different nationalities, who were in the country for the most different reasons. 67.5% of the visitors entered this period for vacations, 14% for visits to family or friends, and only 5.2% to work.
According to data from 2016, tourism is one of the main engines of the country’s economy, accounting for 7.3% of gross domestic product and generating 113,000 jobs. In order to guarantee more quality and continue to please everyone, not only Brazilians, the government began this year to reformulate the national tourism plan until 2030 and began to strengthen the outreach abroad of new destinations that not only Montevideo, Punta Del Este and Cologne of Sacramento. For the 2018 season, the suggestion of the authorities is the “Corridor of the Painted Birds”, an adventure destination, sport fishing and bird watching.
