Airfares, hotel bookings, services and other tourism-related expenses have reached a record number in the United States. On Wednesday, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross revealed that international tourists spent $ 21.2 billion on travel-related activities in July, given that it represents an increase of 4% over the same period of 2016 and the largest number of history in the country.

“It is a pleasure to announce that tourists have spent more in the United States this month than in any other in history, and if that pace is maintained, we will have a record for the year,” said Ross.

Another figure revealed by the secretary was that of spending between January and July this year. Ross said international travelers spent $ 146.3 billion ($ 458 billion) on tourism-related products, up 3 percent from 2016.
